Germantown, Tenn. (October 29, 2012) – Bailey Kramer, a senior at Briarcrest Christian School, has been named a C Spire Wireless Academic All-Stars Award winner.
Kramer is one of six students in the Greater Memphis area who received this week’s award for Foreign Language. C Spire Wireless will recognize more than 160 students during the 2012-2013 school year. Kramer and other weekly winners will be honored at a luncheon at the Hilton Memphis, Thursday, May 2, 2013.
Kramer is an exceptional student who is inquisitive about foreign languages. She took three years of Latin and currently is taking AP Spanish V. Kramer holds a 5.04 weighted grade point average and scored 29 on the ACT. She has received the Joseph A. Clayton Award for Academic Excellence every year. Kramer is a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, National Latin Honor Society and National Honor Society.
Involved in both Spanish and Latin Clubs, Kramer wants to do more than just learn the languages. She has international video chats with foreign students and has pen pals from other countries. Kramer won the Spanish II and Spanish III awards. During her junior year, she won the Foreign Language Top Scholar Award. Kramer placed in the Maxima Cum Laude category on the National Latin Exam and in the Premio de Bronce category twice on the National Spanish Exam.
The C Spire Wireless Academic All-Stars program was conceived to identify and recognize high school students for excellence in academics, school leadership and community service. Now in its 7th year, the C Spire Academic All-Stars Awards are presented weekly for 28 weeks during the academic year from nominations submitted by school administrators. Judges include educators from Rhodes College, The University of Memphis, LeMoyne-Owen College and Christian Brothers University. Each Sunday during the year, C Spire Academic All-Stars are announced in The Commercial Appeal.
